Dr. Ian Reight - Critical Care for Maine Surgical Patients
A longtime presence in the Mount Vernon, Maine, health care community, Ian Reight, MD, treats critical care patients at the Maine General Medical Center. He also teaches surgeons on leading-edge surgical robot techniques with Sunnyvale, California’s Intuitive Surgical. Dr. Ian Reight has past experience directing medical care with Auburn Fire and Rescue, where he oversaw the efforts of the paramedic team, which expanded to include women paramedics under his watch.
Dr. Reight holds an MD earned at the Medical University of the Americas and has provided care for surgical and trauma patients as a surgical resident with Palmetto Health - Richland Care in Columbia, South Carolina. The latter organization delivers quality care to low-income, uninsured residents. While a surgical resident with the University of South Carolina, Dr. Reight served on the school’s Medical Spanish Curriculum Development Committee.
A respected voice in his field, Ian Reight, MD, presented before the South Carolina Committee on Trauma on “Evaluation of the Cervical Spine in the Obtunded Trauma Patients.” He has also spoken at the Maine EMS Disaster Meeting on blast injuries. He emphasizes austere medical care in his teaching practicum.
